It's the simple things

A simple thanks

I find life amusing.  I enjoy laughing, being funny, making light of situations, poking fun, etc.  I appreciate quirky.  I know we are all made in God's liking, and I believe whole heartedly that He has a sense of humor.  If you disagree, just take a look in the mirror.  If it's my mirror, you'll discover God apparently thinks hail damage and hangy skin in the nether-regions is hilarious.

Nonetheless, I love the way life's situations evolve: what seems like failure becomes success, what feels like torment blossoms into pleasure, stress into growth.  There was frankly nothing funny about standing in the mall restroom alone as an 18 year old staring dumbfounded at a stick that mocked me with my impending (WHAT?!?) motherhood. (Stroke). (Wake up.) (Faint). (Wake up.) (Cry). (Wake up). (Double stroke).

But now, I can see clearly what my teenage-fogged glasses couldn't grasp, "God's grace is sufficient."

He has seen us through time. And time. Again.

We struggle. We make mistakes.  I. Make. Mistakes.  What I dirty, He cleans.  And not only does He clean, He makes shiny and new.  Everyday I thank God for His unending grace.  Without it, where would any of us be?

While I'll never understand how He so beautifully and perfectly transforms things, situations, and circumstances, I'll thank Him anyway.  Remember to say a short prayer for those families involved in the Fort Hood tragedy this week.  It's just plain scary when something like this happens 20 minutes from our cozy homes.

Golden trophies, golden teeth. What more could a little boy want?

Peyton was disappointed to hear yesterday's games were the last two of his brothers' season.  He REALLY enjoyed watching them.  Never bored.

He watched with an intensity I don't see in most boys his age. Never took his eyes off the game...

Half-time. (Peyton's the one in the middle).

The boys had an awesome season! They finished second in their division.

Jen
I'm a mom to three rambunctious boys, a wife to a wonderful man, and a radiology resident. I basically write about my twisted world of medicine and motherhood and enjoy spouting off about things I probably know little about. Most of all, I'm trying to document at least a small percentage of these wonderful memories my boys and I are creating.
